Football Playoffs!

Alright, it's that time of year.... we won't know the schedule very much ahead of time, but we need to support our team! The first playoff game will be Monday, November 9. We will leave East around 5 o'clock - so be prepared to not go home until late that night! We will have practice that night until we leave for the game!

Dear Parents:

Thank you for your support during football season! We’ve already made some great memories and the year can only get better from here! I would like to ask everyone to remember the rules of the Spartanettes Dance Team and the agreement we all made at the beginning of the year. Please help your dancer arrive to every performance early. If you think about arriving 5 minutes earlier than the set time, it’s very hard to be late! Also, if your dancer is going to be out of practice, please contact myself, Coach Brewer, or Coach Barnes personally. We have had too many absences and basketball season will suffer with half the absences we had during football! With that being said, thank you for supporting the girls, we all appreciate it!

Additionally, we have recently purchased new t-shirts and hoodie/pant sets for the entire team! We are very excited as these were designed and agreed upon by the whole team! The total price for every piece will be $50 per dancer. That is for all 3 items, which is a steal! I will not be able to give your dancer her apparel until the items are paid for, so the due date for this money will be Tuesday, November 10. If you would like to write a check, please make it out to Hazelwood East High School – as the money has already come out of our account, and we will need to replenish it!

The last item of business – Missouri State Dance Team Competition! In order for the dancers to participate in this event, they must have an individual waiver form. This 2 page form is attached. The due date for this form is also Tuesday, November 10. This information is crucial, and I must turn it in mid-November to secure our spot at the competition.

I will send home a schedule very soon of our basketball schedule, but as a heads up – here’s what you need to know now:

November 30-December 4 – MANDATORY practice EVERY DAY

December 5 – Competition at Lindbergh High School (all day)

December 15 – first home basketball game!

Our Last Home Game

Tomorrow is our last home, and last football performance, pending the rest of the season's outcome. Make sure you arrive in the bleachers by 1:15 sharp so we can mark the field quickly.
Wear your warm-ups and jazz sneakers, hair up. The forecast now says it will be partly cloudy, with probably no rain. Plan accordingly.

Next week:
Monday - bring your athletic shoes and 2 cans of vegetables (or dumbells if you have them)
Tuesday - regular practice, technique day
Thursday - regular practice, technique day

AWAY GAME SCHEDULE!

We have been requested to attend tomorrow's away game against Pattonville. We will wear our warm-ups, and wear our black shoes for uniformity. Bring your poms and any other thing you think you will need for warmth, etc. (that matches!!!!)

The bus (free) will leave East at 5:30 sharp - we will meet at East at 5:15 sharp. We will get into the game for free also.

Homecoming is Saturday. The bus for the parade will leave East at 8:15. The parade begins at 9 AM at Belle Park Plaza. Game kickoff is at 1pm. Court will be announced during halftime!

SEPT. 26 FOOTBALL GAME

Pictures are today, Friday, and I hope everyone remembered all of their uniform pieces!
Tomorrow you will wear/bring:
-black jazz pants
-pantyhose
-jazz SNEAKERS
-top (white, black, burgundy or gold), make sure it's CLEAN
-leotard under shirt and pants

-hair pulled back
-make-up (at least mascara and lips)
-Spartanette jacket
-be prepared for rain
-poms

Please make sure your pants are hemmed to a reasonable length. They should not drag on the ground, they will tear easily and you will have to buy a new pair!
Remember, you do not have 3rd qtr. off, so eat before hand and bring a drink, like gatorade, for the game!

For Saturday, make sure you arrive promptly at 8:30 ON THE FIELD. Not walking towards the field, but ready to dance at 8:30A. We only have 15 minutes and need to make the most of it.

Tights - we may have to take these off, so be prepared!
Hair UP in a nice ponytail (except the 3 with short hair)
Remember, no jewelery

GAME SCHEDULE CHANGE

The game this weekend, East vs. West, has moved times from 1:00pm to 10:00am. We will discuss in practice what time we will need to arrive at the school in time to practice and get ourselves together. Plan on an early morning Saturday!

NEXT WEEK'S PRACTICE SCHEDULE

Because of our 2 upcoming games, next week our practices will run later.
Monday -> 2:40-5:25
Tuesday -> 2:40-5:25
Thursday -> 2:40-4:25
Be ready for an early Saturday practice also to mark the field.

**Pictures are scheduled for the 25th of September (a Friday) immediately after school in the gym!

CHANGE OF PLANS!

Because of the rainy weather today, our uniforms have changed a bit. Today, you may wear your warm-ups (jacket and pants). Please wear either black or white underneath the jacket. If you have a hoodie that is either white or black (or the school's burgundy) you may wear that to protect your hair. I would also suggest bringing an umbrella and a towel or something of that nature to sit on. Call Coach Brewer if you have any questions!

SEPT. 5 FOOTBALL GAME and PICTURES!

Just a reminder of what you need to have/wear tomorrow for the game::
- Shell
- Skirt
- Briefs
- WHITE shoes (clean them if you have to!)
- No-show socks (WHITE)
- Hair in a clean, nice ponytail
- Bag filled with poms, team jacket and anything else you feel you might need that day.

- Don't bring a purse if you can't conceal it
- Yes, you may wear school color (matching) ribbons in your hair (or barettes)

See you at 12:15 SHARP! No later, or you'll have a demerit! You will be released to eat during 3rd quarter, and you will be back before 4th quarter to cheer on the team! :-)

I need all girls to make sure they turn in their constitution to me by Thursday!! (the 27 of August!) Also, evals of the fight song and other bleacher dances will take place... so PRACTICE! See you there!

Parent Meeting

There will be a parent meeting TONIGHT, Monday, August 24 at 7:00 pm! We will discuss the constitution and any other business parents are curious about. See you there!
